Drax sources the majority of its electricity from Drax Power Station, which generates  16% of Great Britain’s renewable power and is the single largest renewable energy generator in the UK. To achieve this, Drax upgraded and converted three of its generation units to use compressed wood pellets instead of coal.

The energy provider is committed to reducing the impact of their actions on the environment and offers a wide range of sustainable priorities, such as electronic billing and communication, promoting recycling and training staff to improve environmental awareness.

Drax tariffs

Drax provides a considerable range of options, with tariffs that can range from one to three years, each with a 90-day notice period. This allows you to manage your business more efficiently.

Drax Complete SME – This is a fully fixed tariff option, meaning that all third party costs are fixed for the duration of your contract. It’s available for one to three years.

Drax Assured SME – This tariff is available for businesses that don’t exceed a usage of 100GWh for up to three years. It consists of fully fixed energy costs for your chosen duration and all additional costs are included in your agreed rates.

Drax Standard SME – This style of contract is fixed for up to three years and includes a build in threshold for third party costs.

Drax Pass-Through SME – This is ideal if you’re considering changing premises. It consists of fixed costs for between six and sixty months, meaning you have better flexibility for if and when you want to leave. This tariff is available for half hourly metered business premises only.
